Job Description :

As a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions to ensure high availability, scalability, and security. You will work closely with engineering teams to optimize cloud environments and support business-critical applications.

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • Create and construct scalable, dependable, secure cloud infrastructure solutions using GCP.
  • Lead the planning and execution of cloud migration projects, ensuring a smooth transition from on-premises or other cloud environments to GCP.
  • Develop comprehensive technical designs for GCP-based solutions, considering factors such as scalability, performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Work with development teams to design and build cloud-native applications.
  • Evaluate and install cloud services and technologies to fulfil the company’s requirements.
  • Ensure that cloud solutions meet security and compliance standards.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security.
  • Provide engineering teams with technical assistance and coaching on GCP best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud strategies and roadmaps that align with business objectives.

Required skills and experience :

  • At least 3 years of proven experience as a Cloud Architect or in a related role, with a strong professional focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including hands-on experience with key GCP services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, and Cloud Storage.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud architecture fundamentals and best practices, including designing cloud infrastructures for 24/7 environments.
  • Proficiency with cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) technologies like Terraform and experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Chef.
  • Advanced hands-on knowledge of GCP’s networking components (e.g., Virtual Private Cloud, Cloud Load Balancing), security features (e.g., Identity and Access Management, Security Command Center), and identity management tools (e.g., Google Cloud IAM).
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP and HTTP/S and experience with security design principles, including segmentation, encryption, and logging.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues, and experience working effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments.

Nice to have/preferred skills and experience (optional) :

  • GCP certification, such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Experience with continuous integration/delivery pipelines and DevOps approaches.
  • Knowledge of different cloud systems (such as AWS and Azure).
  • Proven ability to design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Experience in cost management and optimization strategies for cloud environments, demonstrating a strong track record of cost control and efficiency improvements.
